Places still available on Emergency First Aid in Sport at East Durham Trust, Community House, Yoden Road, Peterlee, County Durham, SR8 5DP on 5 December 2011 from 6pm until 10pm.
This is a Sport First Aid course delivered in a sporting context with approximately half of the time spent on essential emergency first aid including airway management (e.g. gum shields) collapse, resuscitation, choking, blood loss, immediate illness. The other half of the course looks at managing injury in a sports specific context and includes responsibilities of the sport first aider, sport first aid kit, managing limb and head injuries and making cease/return to play decisions consistent with a duty of care. The course is actively delivered and full participation expected, you will be sitting on chairs for about one third of the time and be developing practical skills for the remainder of the event.
